These exquisite porcelain dishes are examples of Seiji (Celadon) ware, valued for their translucent quality and pale, jade-green glaze. Because the extreme thermal shock causes many pieces to shatter, these flawless survivors are considered quite rare. The rapid cooling process creates kanyu (fine crackle patterns) within the deep green pools, resembling natural crystalline structures or cracked ice.
